REFURBISHING PROCESS
REFURBISHING PROCESS (Arcade Games Shop)
At Arcade Games Shop, we set clear, high standards for the machines we sell. Since “refurbished” can mean very different things depending on the seller, our process is built around safety, reliability, and real-world play performance—not just cosmetic cleaning. Because every unit is different (new, used, arcade cabinet, pinball, or table game), the exact work performed may vary by model and condition.
1) Intake & Evaluation
- Confirm model/series and overall condition
- Verify what’s included (keys, power cords, coin door parts, manuals, stools/accessories if applicable)
- Perform an initial power-on and basic function check (when safe)
2) Safety & Electrical Inspection
- Inspect power entry, wiring, fuses, grounding, and connectors
- Check for signs of overheating, loose connections, or prior improper repairs
- Replace failed components and rebuild worn connectors as necessary
3) Deep Cleaning (Inside & Out)
- Clean cabinet/exterior surfaces, control panels, rails, glass/plexi, and coin doors
- Vacuum and clean interior cabinet areas, vents, and service sections
- Sanitize high-touch areas (buttons, flipper buttons, plungers, handles, etc.)
4) Controls, Mechanisms & Gameplay Restoration
Arcade cabinets (where applicable):
- Test joysticks, buttons, start/coin/service inputs, and menu/service functions
- Repair or replace worn controls (buttons, microswitches, springs, select wiring/connectors)
- Verify stable operation without resets or intermittent input issues
Pinball machines (where applicable):
- Inspect and service wear areas and assemblies (flippers, switches, coils, scoops, ramps/plastics, posts/rubber)
- Clean playfield components as needed and reassemble correctly
- Service lamps/lighting (replace bulbs/LEDs as needed; rework connections when required)
- Install new pinballs when appropriate to help protect the playfield and improve play
Table games (where applicable):
- Check leveling, stability, sensors/electronics (if equipped), and moving mechanisms
- Inspect and service wear items (pucks/balls, rods/handles, bumpers, scoring units) as needed
5) Display, Audio & Lighting Checks
- Verify screen/monitor performance (image stability, brightness, and function)
- Test speakers, audio output, and volume controls
- Confirm lighting and essential indicators function properly
6) Burn‑In Testing & Final Quality Check
- Extended run time testing to catch intermittent faults
- Multiple power cycles and real gameplay testing
- Final adjustments (leveling, control feel, feature behavior) and a last full function check before shipment
7) Packing & Shipping Preparation
- Secure and protect key areas to reduce shipping risk
- Prepare machines appropriately for transport (especially freight shipments)
- Tracking is provided once your order ships
What to Expect From a Refurbished Machine
Refurbishment focuses on performance and dependability. Since many machines are pre-owned, minor cosmetic wear may be normal unless a listing states otherwise. We aim to clearly disclose any notable cosmetic or functional details on each product page.
Warranty & Support
Every purchase includes a 1‑year parts warranty and lifetime phone support for basic troubleshooting and guidance.
